In the November 2006 edition of the magazine Nikkei Electronics Asia – India Edition, Suresh Dholakia, President and CEO of DigiBee Microsystems Pvt Ltd, an Indian mobile handset company says,
“DigiBee Microsystems is set to become the first company in India to manufacture mobile phones that are completely India-made. The company’s team of 140 has designed the chip, written all the software, and prepared the handset design. Manufacture is the next step.”
DigiBee has licensed the microprocessor from ARM of the UK and the DSP from CEVA of Israel. It has also become the first Indian company with a design house in Korea, and has started developing handset designs for its phones, which will be commercially available soon.

Digibee has not yet gone into manufacturing. So, the website is still a stub. Hope they’ll build it up when they are into business.
